Good afternoon parents-

Please take a look at the email below from Ms. Bacon and the English team regarding summer reading. Please reach out to her if you have any questions. This email was sent to students as well this morning, but we would love if you wanted to read along and/or encourage your child to keep current over the summer.

Be well.

Tom

Greetings from the BSA English department!

Each year, we invite our current and incoming students to participate in a summer reading text. This year, we have created a google site to organize the book list, project descriptions, and recommendations. All current and incoming students are required to read at least one of the listed texts, and complete one follow-up project to submit to their English teacher during the 2nd week of school this fall.

We highly encourage students to take advantage of the Pratt library's ecard system to check out ebooks and audiobooks, and almost all of this year's titles are available in these formats. However, keep in mind that more popular titles may have longer wait times. The lists are organized by suggested grade bands based on reading level and content maturity, but students are free to choose any book from any grade level.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Bacon (jbacon@bsfa.org) or your current BSA English teacher. We're excited to read with you this summer!
