Good afternoon parents!!
I hope this email finds you well. October is a very busy month around here so I wanted to give you a heads-up about two events coming up.
The first is Open School Day this Thursday the 10th. If you would like to join your child for all of their classes, this is the event for you! You can follow your child through the entirety of their arts and academic classes from 830am-430pm. Schedules for your child will be available when you sign in for the day. This day gives you a chance to get a full immersion into the day here at BSA.
A few logistical notes to consider for Open School Day. First, please be mindful of the parking situation if you are a driving family. I would recommend you find a lot nearby so you do not have to worry about moving your car. The City will ticket heavy around here so please be aware of that. Secondly, you are encouraged to stay for the duration of the day, but if that is not possible, you can pop in and out as needed based on your schedule. Lastly, this is not an individual conference day with teachers. This is a very hectic day for the teachers so we kindly ask that you do not try and engage them in individual conversations about your child. Also lastly, please do not take your child out for lunch. You are more than welcome to go out yourself and get lunch to bring back, but it will get very confusing and potentially unsafe to have to record who is coming and going.
Pivoting to another important topic....
Next Wednesday, October 16th is our academic parent-teacher conference evening. These will take place from 5pm-8pm. For those new to our format, there are links to sign-up below for each of your child's teachers. The slots are in 10 minute increments and that should give you ample time to discuss progress, strengths, and areas for growth. Please be mindful in this endeavor to adhere to the time that you sign up for. Otherwise, it can get confusing for both you and the teacher. Like with Open School Day, there will be sign-in sheet when you arrive and there will be guides to where the teachers will be meeting. They may not always be meeting in the room on the schedule since some teachers share rooms.
Some teachers will not be there for this event. Our Spanish II teacher, Sra. Morales, will not be present, but if you have concerns, please email her at email@example.com. Additionally, the subs for Ms. Grouzard in Modern World History (Ms. Freelon) and Sra. Duffy in Spanish I (Ms. France) will not be present. If you would like to inquire with them, please email them at firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com respectively. There will be hard copy forms for you to complete that will be returned to them if you would like them to contact you as well.
Please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any additional questions or need further clarification.
